Subject: Dataset Corruption Error in WEAP Due to Version Mismatch

Hello everyone,
I’m facing an error when trying to open a WEAP dataset. The dataset was originally created and saved in WEAP version 2019.2101 (or newer), but at some point it was opened in an older version of WEAP (before 2019.2101). Now, whenever I try to open it, I receive this error: "This dataset was opened in WEAP version 2019.2101 (or newer), then later opened in an older version of WEAP (before 2019.2101). This has probably caused the dataset to be corrupted." This dataset was previously developed by someone else at my university, and now I would like to continue and further develop it as part of my research. Unfortunately, I cannot proceed because of this error. Has anyone experienced this issue before? Is there any way to fix or recover the dataset, or should I start from a backup/version that was never opened in the older WEAP? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! You could try to view this dataset in the current version of WEAP, but it probably will have lost most if not all data. If everything looks OK, then you can use it. Otherwise, you will need to find a backup copy that was not opened in a newer version of WEAP and subsequently in the older version.

Hi Mr Sieber,
Thank you very much for your response and guidance. I opened the dataset using the latest version of WEAP; however, unfortunately, no data is visible — it seems that most or all of the dataset content has been lost. Since this dataset was originally developed by another researcher at my university, and I am now continuing and expanding that work, I would like to know if there is any possible way to access an earlier version of the dataset or to recover the lost data through any recovery method within WEAP. I would greatly appreciate any further advice or recommendations you could provide. Kind regards, |

Can you contact the other researcher and ask if they have an older version of the dataset that they could share with you?
