Here at SEI US we have been working on some changes to improve how WEAP is used globally for water resources planning and management. To reflect its longstanding focus on adaptation, "WEAP" is now defined as Water Evaluation and Adaptation Planning. Additionally, we have developed a brand new website that is easier to navigate, provides clearer information on the WEAP platform benefits, and highlights our WEAP user community and contributions. Please take a look and let us know what you think: https://www.weap21.org

We have also just released a new version of WEAP (2025.0), which includes a much-requested new feature: you can now search the Schematic by name to find objects more easily, especially useful for complex models. See https://www.weap21.org/WhatsNew for a complete list of changes.

Thank you for being a part of our WEAP community, now over 56,000 users in 196 countries!

Dear Jack,

Thank you for releasing the new version of the WEAP model.

I have a quick question: Can we open our completed projects in the new version to take advantage of the added features, or would that require major changes to projects created in previous versions?

Kind regards,
Selam

Dear Selam,

Yes, the new version of WEAP has no problem opening your models from previous versions.

To update WEAP, go to the main menu: Help, Check for New Version
