I have a river with two reservoirs (dams) on it. The first inflow (Headflow A) enters the river upstream and is stored in **Dam 1**. This flow is used to meet two demands (urban and environmental), and 60% of one of these returns to the river. Further downstream, another inflow from a **tributary** (Headflow B) joins the main river and flows into **Dam 2**, which is located downstream of Dam 1.
The problem is that in my current model, **Headflow A is being counted twice** — it enters both Dam 1 and Dam 2, which leads to overestimation of water availability.
How can I configure the model so that **Headflow A only enters Dam 1**, and only the **second inflow ** contributes to Dam 2? I want to avoid double-counting the upstream flow. Any guidance or best practices would be appreciated!

Hani,
I recommend to go to Results --> Supply and Resources --> Inflows to Area. Here, you should be able to see the volume of inflows which enter your model. This volume should be equal to Headflow A + Headflow B.
Otherwise, make sure that your Headflow B is just the intermediate flow which is added within the area between Dams 1 and 2, and not the total inflow into Dam 2. You have to account for the flow in your model coming upstream from Dam 1 into Dam 2.
