Subject: How to feed amount of crop water requirement for any specific crop in the irrigated area of catchment. Posted: 8/11/2021 Viewed: 6355 times
Hello WEAP community!
I am modelling a catchment with soil moisture method. I want to incorporate amount of crop water requirement for irrigation within the irrigated area of the catchment.
But I am not getting any field/Tab for feeding such input.
Please help me to fix out the same.

To model the crop water requirement in WEAP-
If you are using a catchment, you must right click on it in the schematic and check "Includes Irrigated Areas". Then, you must go to the Data Tree to the demand site's Irrigation --> Irrigated Area to designate which branches are irrigated. Finally, the crop water requirement is set indirectly based on the difference between the soil moisture and precipitation availability minus the ET requirement set by Kc and the climate inputs. See the WEAP Help for Soil Moisture method for more information. You will also need to set the Lower and Upper Threshold for the Irrigation parameters.
Alternatively, you can use a demand site to represent your crop demands. Using a demand site, you can set the crop water requirement as a direct input by going to the demand site in the Data Tree --> Advanced --> Method --> Specify Month/Daily Demand, and then entering in your demand as an input.
