Subject: Crop yield calibration

Hi,

I am developing a model in WEAP (for Uganda) and want to know how to calibrate the crop yield values given by WEAP. I have rain-fed agriculture only and use the crop response factor (Ky) to calculate crop yield with respect to the change in relevant climatic parameters. One option is to calibrate it against the toal production (yield * area harvested)statistics from FAO. But the model does not consider the impact of fertilizers and other co2 related effects on crop yield. hence there will always be a significant difference (which can be perceived as an error). Can you suggest me some publication where this type of calibration has been done using WEAP outputs?

Probably other tools like Aqua-crop have better calibration techniques, but I would like to know the possibilities in WEAP as I will build other water balance aspects of the country as well.

Thanks
Best
vignesh
