Dear Colleagues,
It is a pleasure to tell you that i have managed to link WEAP with MODFLOW using an interface created by LinkKitchen. I have configured Upper Awash basin and be able to model surface water and groundwater water supply sources of Addis Ababa city. In addition to dynamically linking the two environments, i have analyzed a number of natural and anthropogenic scenarios both from demand and supply side perspectives. Implication of strict water management practices have also been evaluated.
Generally, the dynamic linkage between surface water reservoirs and groundwater supply sources helped me gain insight into the potential consequences of continuously changing natural and anthropogenic conditions on surface water and groundwater supply sources of Addis Ababa city.

Hi Behailu, I'm very interested in how you linked WEAP and Modflow using LinkKitchen.
I'd like to do that in basins here in Chile where I live, but most of the Modflow models developed here use the newer versions of Modflow and as far as I know, WEAP can only link with Modflow 2000.
What version of Modflow do you use?

The current version of WEAP (2016.01) can only link to MODFLOW 2000, but an upcoming version will be also able to link to MODFLOW 2005 and MODFLOW-NWT. We plan to release this new version before the end of 2017.

We have no plans at the moment to link WEAP to MODFLOW USG (Unstructured Grid).

I have linked WEAP with MODFLOW 2000, because that was the only option i had. I am happy to hear that the upcoming version can also be linked with MODFLOW 2005 and MODFLOW-NWT.

Hello, I have processing MODFLOW version 5.3, I have also been looking for another version of MODFLOW to link with WEAP version 2016.0.1.0. Is it possible that processing MODFLOW 5.3 can be linked with that version of WEAP?
