Respected, I am working on reservoir operation analysis with proposed rule curve, how i can calibrate and validate the model and anlyze the results. My data is based on monthly time series for 13 years and how i can get the impact of future climatic condition on reservoir operation. I may please be guided

Hello Iftikhar,

You should implement a flood rule curve through the Top of Conservation object. You can enter the data by using the Expression Builder, the Monthly-time Series Wizard, or use ReadFromFile from a time-series file. You can enter Observed Volume data in order to compare the modeled and observed volumes in the results to calibrate and validate the model. However, note that you should use historical rule curve operations (and not proposed) in your calibration comparison- often I will create a separate scenario for this. You will also use your 13 years of historical climate data (is that what you meant by your 13 years of data?) for this calibration scenario.

WEAP contains many future climate projections using CMIP5 and CMIP6. To access this data, please use automatic catchment delineation mode. then for each climate projection you are interested in, select it in the catchment delineation mode climate menu, and download the data. Please see the Help for Automatic Catchment Delineation and look under the header for Climate Data. Additionally, this forum thread contains additional explanation on loading future climate projection data: https://www.weap21.org/index.asp?action=9&read=4546&fID=30

Hope this helps!
