What is the PLANT FACTOR for generating hydropower. How can we calculate this factor? Can you give me a simple example for calculating plant factor. What is the difference PLANT FACTOR and CAPACITY FACTOR.

Hi Haluk,
The plant factor is the percentage of each month that it is producing hydropower. For instance, if it didn't produce hydropower over the weekend (I don't know if this is realistic), that would be 8 days out of the month without power productiot, out of 30 days 8/30 = 26.6%, so it would be a plant factor of about (100-26.6) = 73.4%. Remember data can be entered as a monthly time series wizard.
Each of the variables in WEAP contains a description just above where you would enter in your data.
