In my WEAP "catchments" I want to account for the effects of different vegetation types on snow accumulation and melt. Since it does not seem like there’s a direct way to account for variability caused by things like vegetation influence on amount of snow reaching the ground, I thought I might just alter the temperature and precipitation data I input into those subcatchments to account for predicted effects of vegetation. In order to do this it seems like I would have to be able to add climate data on a sub-catchment level (instead of a catchment level as is currently allowed). Is there a way to modify WEAP’s structure in order to add climate data on a sub-catchment level? If not, might there be any other way to account for the influence of vegetation on snow accumulation and melt?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Actually, WEAP does allow you to enter climate data on a sub-catchment level. When you do this, WEAP will track snow accumulation on each sub-catchment branch, not just at the catchment level. For example, if your catchment is split into Forest, Pasture and Wheat, you will be able to enter climate data for each of these three branches, and see snow accumulation results for each branch.

To enter climate data for sub-catchments, on the WEAP menu, go to General, Basic Parameters. In the "Climate Data" box, choose "Each branch within a catchment can have different climate data."
